"Somatic presence requires time to settle. When we rush the process of going deep, the nervous system interprets the haste as a threat and recruits defense mechanisms."
— Stephen Porges
Time-Intensive Therapy
Time-Intensive therapy offers a spacious, uninterrupted container for deeper healing by moving beyond the limitations of traditional 50-minute sessions—where it can be hard to build momentum and easy to lose connection just as meaningful work begins. Extended sessions allow the process to unfold naturally, slowing down in ways that signal safety to the nervous system. Research shows that working in longer, concentrated blocks accelerates progress because the brain and nervous system have uninterrupted time to process, integrate, and settle. To support your comfort, intentional pauses for tea, water, bathroom breaks, and nourishment are naturally woven throughout our time together to aid grounding and regulation.
For clients traveling to see me, intensives reduce the need for frequent trips by consolidating therapy into fewer visits while maintaining depth and continuity. Sessions range from 2 to 6 hours for both individuals and couples. If you’re curious about what format and length might be the best fit for your needs, I invite you to schedule a consultation so we can explore it together.
For Individuals
Individual intensives offer the time and space to stay deeply connected to your emotions and inner experience without feeling rushed or fragmented. This extended format allows for the thoughtful integration of modalities like EMDR, Brainspotting, somatic approaches, sandtray, parts work, and expressive arts. Longer sessions create room for deeper resolution of traumatic memories, anxiety, and depression, making it possible to process multiple targets in a single visit.
For Couples
Couples intensives provide partners with the time needed to soften reactivity, stay with difficult emotions, and engage deeply without feeling shut down or cut off. This sustained focus allows us to integrate attachment-based work, somatic practices, parts work, and experiential exercises to navigate conflict, repair attachment injuries, and break through entrenched patterns. Partners gain the uninterrupted space necessary to process ruptures, rebuild attunement, and foster lasting relational connection.
